Within EDP4130 I have been able to understand the term ‘technology’better and what it entails. While I had long held the notion that technology was about innovation with the creation of mechanical and digital devices – particularly focusing on science/space objects and medical equipment, what I found out was it was actually so much more!
Technology also represents design where it features in architecture and structures that we use daily. It is also about building towards the future to serve our needs as a society, furthering our sustainability. To do that means to find problems, locate solutions and in the process, learn about how technology can impact our lives.
Check out some Digital Technology and Design and Technology resources I have created for teaching in Primary School – focused for Year 4 but the activities can be altered to suit any year – even adults can have fun with these!
